Traffic was backed up all morning on Shaikh Zayed Road on Friday after a water pipe burst and water blocked the Dubai-bound side of the road.
According to police, the water pipe burst at around 8am.
Shaikh Zayed Road was blocked from the Dubai Police Academy bridge to the Al Suqueim bridge near Al Manara. Traffic has been directed to Al Khail and Emirates Road.
Dubai Police, in collaboration with the Roads and Transport Authority, were working to restore access to Shaikh Zayed Road a quickly as possible.
A dozen tankers were seen at the site pumping up gallons of water blocking the road near the Times Square Centre. Diggers are also dumping sand to absorb the water.
