Here is another new “service fee” imposed on people living or visiting UAE.
As reported here, passengers using UAE airports will soon be required to pay a safety fee of Dhs 5.
The decree, published in the official gazette, will be enforced on July 28 and it involves the levying of Dhs 5 as “a passenger security and safety services fee”, according to the Arabic language daily Alkhaleej.
The decision excludes children aged below two years, cabin crew members, transit passengers and 24-hour non-stop trips.
However, it is not clear what kind of safety will be provided to the passengers, or is it safety from the passengers?
Dubai International Airport doubled parking prices for some time slots, a move that has not been received well by residents.
